1.0. Presentation

The University of Burundi has a Central Library located on the Mutanga campus. It is the main library which houses the central catalog listing all the documents available in all the libraries of the University of Burundi.

This Library currently has a site with links to open access publications accessible at http://openaccess.ub.edu.bi and an electronic catalog accessible at the site http://catalogue.ub.edu.bi/ as well as An Institutional Repository of online scientific publications produced by the community of Researchers at the University of Burundi which will be operational very soon.

In the reading rooms, consultation of documents is freely accessible. Academic publications (students' final works and professors' theses) and national and regional monographs constitute a special fund and are kept in an ad hoc area called “Reserve”. These documents are consulted on request at the various counters and on presentation of a student card or special authorization.
