Historical
Created in 1964, the University of Burundi (UB) currently has more than 12,000 students spread across 8 Faculties and 7 Institutes. With its number of registered students but also in terms of staff numbers and teaching sectors, it remains the largest public institution of Higher Education in Burundi. It aims to provide excellent training based on quality teaching, and wants to be a reference university in the sub-region.
The University of Burundi has evolved in its organization under the supervision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
