Joseph NYANDWI is a Medical Doctor with a background of Nephrology (DES) after a training program at University of reims/France), a Master of Immunology& regenerative medicine(Mansoura University/Egypt), a Mast of Public Health (University of Aix Marseille/France). He is Associate Professor at the University of Burundi in the Faculty of Medicine. He is a Researcher with more than 60 publications.
He currently serves as Director General of the National Public Health Institute of Burundi. He is the President of the National Commission of Science, Technology and Innovation and the Head of the National Board of ethics As a senior reseacher , he is Commisioner of the East African Health research Commission. Professor Joseph NYANDWI has also been the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
He is member of the board of International society of Nephrology, Africa chapter. He is a national focal point of Africa CDC and member of many regional technical working groups.
