Biography
Professor Deogratias NDUWARUGIRA is a biologist with a Master's degree in Biology of Organisms and Ecology, and a PhD in Sciences from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium. Since returning to Burundi in April 2016, after completing his doctorate, he has been actively involved in research and publications on the biodiversity of protected areas of the country. Currently Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, he was also responsible for the Master's program in Organismal Biology. Furthermore, Professor NDUWARUGIRA is the National Focal Point for UNESCO's MAB program and a member of the Editorial board of the Scientific Bulletin on the Environment and Biodiversity of the Burundian Office for Protection of Environment, OBPE.
